Sir TONY CRAGG (born 9 April 1949 in Liverpool) is a British-German visual artist and Turner Prize winner. From 1979 he taught at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, becoming a professor in 1988, before taking up a post as Professor of Sculpture at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin in 2001. He has been a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London since 1994 and a member of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin since 2002. He was also
made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the same year. In 2009, TONY CRAGG was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts. In the same year, he was promoted from Vice Rector to Rector of the Düsseldorf Art
Academy. At the beginning of February 2015, he was made an honorary member of the Kunstakademie. In 2016, CRAGG was made a Knight Bachelor.
