Göhringer Armin

The sculptures of Armin Göhringer manage to impress with their surfaces alone: the wooden pieces are carved by way of chainsaw and burner. Through the combination of massive, dark blocks with fragile strands and grid-like nets, an encompassing, abstract language of form emerges. In his works, the artist sets himself apart using the unique properties of his materials. “Wood evokes sensations, no matter what direction the thoughts point.” He sees his works as self-portraits, he always insists.

Armin Göringer (*1954) studied at the Offenbach University of Art and Design from 1976 to 1982. He has constructed countless projects for “Kunst-am-Bau-Projekte” and works in the public space. Many of his pieces can be found in the public space and in important private collections.
