Immendorff Jörg

JÖRG IMMENDORFF is one of the best-known contemporary German artists. His art stands for the examination of the political, social and cultural themes in the field of social tension. Quotations from the works of other artists in IMMENDORFF'S sculptures, references from art history or allusions are a characteristic feature in his artistic work. A former student of Joseph Beuys, he was himself a professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. One year later, he received the "Premio Marco", the world's most highly endowed art prize. Numerous museums have honored his work, most recently the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin with a solo exhibition.
