Her art is many things at once: figures in space, architectural image with figure, abstract construction with photography, spatial illusion. Franziska Schemel (* 1961) deals with life in urban spaces in her pictorial objects. She marks the paths of the daily environment and extends them into the seemingly infinite with a photograph. They are clearly assigned to corridors, underpasses, or subway stations. People play a central role here.
Franziska Schemel works with various materials such as acrylic, pigment, graphite, sand or stone flour and combines them with her own photographs.
