Wolf Georg-Friedrich

GEORG-FRIEDRICH WOLF (*1962 in Freiburg) is a German steel sculptor. His artistic focus lies on monumental installations with the use of steel based on contemporary themes. Wolf has been exploring the processing of steel for decades: whether using a welding torch, hydraulic press or laser cut, he is familiar with all techniques. When he creates his sculptures, he is working with full physical commitment; he performs the sculpture. Wolf's steel sculptures do not immediately reveal anything about the artist's life. The steel sculptor disappears behind his creation, the purely abstract form. And yet they are very personal works. His pieces deal with polarity, progress and failure; they scrutinise our relationship with nature and the universe.
